Acoustic insulation company Hodgson & Hodgson has launched an acoustic floorboard called Reduc Micro 21 for use on timber floors.

Laid over chipboard, the company says the 21mm thick board dampens vibration, attenuates airborne sound and impact noise, and exceeds Part E requirements for upgrading separating floors, with minimum loss to room height. The board is a composite structure in which chipboard is substituted for cement particle board, giving a high weight-to-thickness ratio.
